Student-Student mentoring(Ehsaas-2017-18) under DBT Star College Scheme in which students of B.Sc III Yr and B.Sc II Yr mentored the students of B.Sc I Yr. After that students of III Yr and II Yr shared the details of their experiences with the I yr student through powerpoint presentation on the various projects and extended practicals under DBT Star college Scheme .
Quiz Competiton (2017-18) under DBT Star College Scheme on 16th Aug,2017 with a view to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and to establish relationship between theory and application of the learnt concept.

Extension lecture on “Gelsolin: A bridge between health and disease” under DBT Star College Scheme was delivered by Dr. Ashish Ganguly, Senior Principal Scientist at IMTECH for undergraduate students. He enlightened the students about Actin and its impact on the health.He highlighted that Plasma Gelsolin (pGSN) is the only component of two member extracellular actin scavenger system capable of severing circulating actin microfilaments.
Food adulteration camp on 11-10-17
Food Adulteration Camp and awareness about cleanliness and tree plantation was organised at village Chakshakoor as a part of social outreach activity under DBT Star College Scheme. The purpose of this event was to create awareness regarding the checking of adulteration in various food items and milk, importance of cleanliness and tree plantation among masses.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO JCT Mill, Phagwara on 11-11-17
An industrial visit to JCT Limited Textiles Manufacturing Plant, Phagwara was organized for the undergraduate students. The main objective behind the visit was to help students gain first hand information regarding the synthesis of yarn from raw materials and functioning of the industry.. Students keenly observed the manufacturing processes and also witnessed Spinning, weaving, finishing and packaging process.

Faculty Development Program on “Recent Developments and Techniques in Teaching and Learning in UG Programs” has been organized by Science Faculty of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under DBT Star College Scheme.FDP focused on various skills, techniques and methodologies which can be incorporated in teaching so that the learning becomes a wonderful, joyful and everlasting experience for the learners. This FDP has provided an opportunity to various academicians to gain knowledge on various aspects of teaching and learning.

Extension lecture was delivered by Dr. Subodh Kumar, Professor, Department of Chemistry, GNDU Amritsar for undergraduate students under DBT Star College Scheme on “Subtle distribution of electron density in carbon –X bond : chemical reactivity to information generation” .He enlightened the students about the real challenges of chemistry with respect to major innovations by eminent scientists. He highlighted the distribution of electrons in carbon and detailed about the various oxidation levels exhibited by carbon when it is bonded to atoms having different nature and it is this very part of the molecule which is responsible for the reactions exhibited by the compounds.
Career Counselling in Chemistry on 24-2-18
“Career Counselling in Chemistry” under DBT Star College Scheme was done by Dr. Subodh Kumar, Professor, Department of Chemistry, GNDU Amritsar for undergraduate students. He enlightened the students about the real challenges of chemistry with respect to job opportunity with chemistry as one of the subject at graduate and master level. Dr. Subodh made students aware the core areas of job avenues in Chemistry including teaching, research, industry and global opportunity.

National Science day was commemorated under DBT Star College Scheme on the theme Science and Technology for Sustainable Development.. Resource person, Dr. Atul Khanna, Prof, Dept. of Physics, GNDU, Amritsar, Shared his incisive views on the topic 'Role of Science and Technology in Sustainable Development with special reference to renewable energy resources followed by the powerpoint presentation by students on Innovative ideas for sustainable development.
Trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City on 28-3-18
An educational trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City was organised by science faculty. Almost every branch of science was exhibited in the Pushpa Gujral Science City, right from physical, applied, natural and social sciences, engineering, technology, agriculture, health sciences, energy, industries, human evolution and civilization, the environment, ecosystems and Jurassic park. The Science faculty of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized “Science Achiever’s Day” under DBT Star College Scheme to applaud the meritorious students for their diligent efforts in academics and extra curricular activities.. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi distributed cash incentives to 69 students who had been placed under merit in medical and non-medical stream.
