At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar the Heritage Autonomous Institution, Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication to conducting a six day workshop on Basics of Camera and Video Production. The workshop which began on 5th. of March, 2018 will conclude on the 10th. of the same month. Prof. Vasuki Belavadi from the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad (Telangana) was the key speaker. A member of UNESCO, Prof. Vasuki addressed students of B.Voc. in Photography & Journalism, B.A.(JMC), B.A. with Journalism. He spoke at length on the topic of the workshop. He discussed in detail the finer nuances of handling a camera efficiently and also the points which should be kept in mind while making a video of good professional quality. Explaining about the various aspects of a good production he also talked about the importance of budget management, schedule, good production crew and the co-ordination between all these aspects. He also discussed the integral relationship between shots, frame and sequence. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi who accorded a warm & floral welcome to the speaker also observed that it was a singular honour for the students to be exposed to the knowledge & experience of someone of Dr.Vasuki to stature. She thanked the guest profusely for not worrying about distance to connect to students from all corners of the country. The highlight of the day was the interaction between the scholarly key speaker to the curious students whose queries were satisfied to their delight. On the occasion all the faculty members of the Dept. of Journalism were present alongwith Sh.Karamveer Sandhu, photomentor and Dr.Madhumeet, Dean Languages & Student Welfare.
