At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar expressions of empowered womanhood in new incarnations is a daily venture. The P.G. Department of Fashion Designing at KMV has been holding Fashion shows science 2005 under the nomenclature of Sukriti. This time again the department organized Sukriti 2018- A Fashion Panorama dedicated to the spirit of new empowered woman. Ms. Anita Raja, Counselor, Jalandhar, Sh. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, Sh. Gautam Singal, ADCP, Ms. Deepika Singh, ACP, Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal and worthy members of KMV managing committee graced the occasion. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guests and prominent dignitaries from Jalandhar. She asserted that the show was an effort to empower girls and society and large ultimately. Sukriti 2018 showcased collections of 300 budding designers and had achieved wider exposure. The theme of the fashion show was up cycled sustainable fashion. The amalgamation for overall presentation was tropical rain forest. The show comprised of 13 rounds namely Majestic Rainbow, Save the big cats, Black Taj, Peacocks, corporate chic, volutinous medley, bonding ties, florist vistoso, branche blue, Kalam-e-Adakari, sustainable remix swag, Diya aur Bati and Chateau Petrus. In these rounds students of the department creatively present various athenic wear, traditional wera, office wear, western dresses, evening gowns, Indo western style, short skirts with frills and ruffles, innovative saree drapes, Lehngas,. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the P.G Department of Fashion Designing for efforts of putting up such a high professional standards of performance through this fashion show.
