PG Department of Chemistry, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar has organised various competitions to commemorate National Chemistry Week-2021 (NCW) with the theme “Fast or Slow…..Chemistry Makes it Go” from 17th-23th October 2021. NCW is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life. More than 850 Students from different states of India participated enthusiastically in various competitions like Logo making/Mask making (Digital/Physical), Video making showing chemical processes/experiment and online Quiz. Students have shown their innovative skills and creative ideas based on the theme of NCW. Such kind of events is in regular feature for the growth of student’s communication skills and intellectual/personal developments. The candidates who successfully qualified the quiz got e-certificates. The students with best logo making, mask making video clippings activities were selected and rewarded for their creative ideas. In the category of Logo making Ananya Singh (B.Sc. N. Med. Sem V, KMV, Jalandhar),Dipika Ashok Jambhulkar (B.Voc. Sem III, Forensic Science, Shri Shivraji Science college, Amravati) and Ruchika Thakur (B.Sc Med sem V,KMV,Jal)got first, second and third positions resp. For Mask making activity, Sandeep kaur (B.Sc. N. Med. Sem V, KMV, Jalandhar), Nisha Negi ((Pre) Chem, govt. Danger college, Bikaner, Rajsthan) have bagged first, second and third positions. Likewise, in the category of video making activity, Nithin V.A, Kongu (Eng. College, Perundurai, Erode), Shruti Kalia, (B.Sc. Med Sem III, KMV, Jalandhar), Reena Sharma (Ramjas College, Delhi University) secured first, second and third positions resp. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi applauded the efforts taken by the Faculty of PG Department of Chemistry for conducting such a meaningful event for the holistic development of students.
