Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar has always been committed to develop intellectual base of both faculty and students through interactions and deliberations with reputed academicians and experts. In this endeavour,  PG Department of Economics, KMV, Jalandhar organized an extension lecture on the topic “Structural Changes in Indian Economy: Role of Services Sector”. Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Professor and Head, Punjab school of Economics GNDU, Amritsar was the expert on the occasion. She discussed in detail the historical prospective of structural changes in India, which had important bearing on contribution made by each sector sectors and overall development process of the Indian economy. She discussed the reasons for the lopsided growth of Indian economy where services sector has grown rapidly despite any specific policy for it. In the present context, she highlighted the relevance of agribusiness economy along with the growth of services sector. Faculty and students also had a very fruitful interactive session with her.
