Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has introduced BA programme integrated with Vocational component keeping in view the demands of 21^st century and impetus to job-oriented Skill Education. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that under the autonomy, another student oriented initiative has been started by KMV according to which a student can opt for a skill subject along with the other subjects of humanities as the unique feature of this programme is that it facilitates multidisciplinary education focused on practical component and hands-on training. KMV is the pioneer college in the region to commence new age multidisciplinary programs which are most contemporary and job enabling & has taken the lead in introducing skill development subjects in BA namely Visual Communication, Tourism, Office Management, Nutrition & Wellness and Retail Management. The syllabi of these subjects are designed by the industry experts in alignment with the current industry requirements. As industry is instrumental in designing and updating the course content, it provides students ample opportunities to have industry exposure through regular Expert talks, Workshops, Industry-Academia meets where students and faculty get to interact with the industry experts. Industry Training and Projects form part of this BA programme where students get to work in real time work environment and have first-hand work-experience while studying only. The students trained in industry are also offered with the ‘Earn-while-learn’ opportunities where they can earn in addition to work experience they gain during their training. BA with a difference, aims at outcome-oriented skill training where students get industry ready and are absorbed into job-market as soon as they complete their graduation.
