Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar an Autonomous and Heritage Institution believes that practical science activities have huge significance in the learning process. So faculty of P.G. Department of Physics engage students, help them to develop important skills, understand the process of scientific investigation and develop a broad understanding of scientific concepts through hands-on activities. Students are taught to carry out their own scientific enquiries and so acquire scientific knowledge for themselves. For this P.G. Department of Physics organized a 2 days student – student mentoring workshop- “ANUBHOOTI- 2023” on Aug 16-17, 2023.  To motivate students to develop critical and analytic thinking, different innovative projects made by senior science students were exhibited. Students showcased their projects like hand boiler, radiometer, tap n water, Bluetooth car, wave machine, plasma globe and many more. Students have developed as well as showcased touchless hand sanitizing machines which will be installed in the entrance of their class rooms. Further a prototype of touchless switches and touchless attendance system has been developed with an objective that students while entering or leaving the classroom can turn lights and fans ON/OFF without even touching switches and can get themselves sanitized too. Attendance of students will be automatically marked by just passing across the switch.Students have also designed Bluetooth Controlled Car (Futuristic Driveless Car) which can be operated by using a mobile phone. Through this workshop creative talent of the students was explored and they were able to think outside of the box. This workshop has developed a scientific spirit and curiosity among students which in turn drove them to think and creatively find solutions to the challenges. Students enjoyed learning through this workshop and felt a sense of belongingness as they made the models with their own hands. Principal Dr. (Prof.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated students for taking such innovative initiatives. She said science is the application of existing scientific knowledge to the practical world, like technology or inventions.
