P.G. Department of Physics, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar and autonomous and heritage institution organized a debate competition named “ForumScape” on Aug 23, 2023 for all undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions, the main aim of organizing debate competition was to give insight into the schemes and policies landscape of the Indian Startup Ecosystem. The session was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the cashless economy among students.
There were four teams who spoke on pre allotted themes like “Cashless Economy: Are we ready for Transformation”, Is entrepreneurship contagious?Women are better entrepreneurs. Self funding a start-up is better than taking loans.
To begin with, two participants spoke their mind on the rationale for, the execution of and the potential future effects of cashless economy. Unsurprisingly, this led to a wide spectrum of contrasting views – from being heralded as an inevitable future, to being poorly perceived positivity and doubtful future due to a severe lack of critical infrastructure and technology, to being an achievable dream that can lead to a more transparent economy and a possibility of less corrupt India.
Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and roved. The competition was so interesting with the exchange of student’s perspective by equally stating the merits and demerits of going for a cashless economy.
The event was judged by Dr. Neetu Verma, Associate Professor, Vice President, KMVIIC, Dr. Surbhi Sharma Innovation Ambassador, KMVIIC. Overall The event was very interactive and interesting.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi applauded efforts of P.G. Department of Physics for organizing this orientation session. She added that such events should be organized to give insight into the schemes and policies landscape of the Indian Startup, entrepreneurial and innovation Ecosystem.
