A Design Thinking workshop was arranged by KMV IIC in collaboration with the P.G. Department of Physics on October 13, 2023. The resource person was Dr. Neetu Verma, Associate Professor, P.G. Department of Physics, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. Faculty members and students with backgrounds in B.A., B.Sc. Non-Medical, B.Sc. Medical, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Voc attended the discussion.

The resource person gave an explanation of design thinking’s definition and its various phases. In addition, he emphasized how important design thinking is to the innovation process. Using relevant examples like Zomato, OLA, iPhone, etc., the resource person described the various stages, including empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and implement. She also presented the case study on current innovations and design thinking trends like Uber Eats and contemporary restrooms. For example, with just a button click, Uber can provide customized and reasonably priced food delivery. In order to effectively apply design thinking and innovation, the speaker also stressed the importance of gathering ideas, defining problems and gaps, building potential solutions through brainstorming, sending them for testing, getting user feedback, and iterating the model. Through conversation with the speaker, the students learned more details. Students gained a great deal of knowledge from this engaging and interactive session.Dr. Neetu Verma received praise from Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi for her outstanding efforts in this regard.
