P.G. Department at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya in Jalandhar, an autonomous and historically important institution, has consistently prioritized the comprehensive growth of its students. Alongside the standard curriculum, it offers hands-on support and guidance for advanced physics demonstrations. In this context, UG students of physics participated in a science-oriented competition organized by Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar to celebrate National Science Day. Students at various colleges participated in this event. Several competitions were held under this event namely, Rangoli, Best Out of Waste, PowerPoint presentation, Poster Presentation, and Slogan Writing. Six students at our college participated in Best out of Waste, PowerPoint presentation, Poster Presentation, and Slogan Writing. The PowerPoint presentation was based on Indigenous Technologies, Renewable Sources of Energy, Climate Change, Water Conservation, Digital India, Make in India, Space technology, etc. Students from different colleges participated in Best Out of Waste and displayed decorative items by reusing and recycling waste material. Manjusha student of B.Sc (Hons.) Physics Sem 6 gave her presentation on the topic of water Conservation, titled “Let’s Preserve it Today” and won First Prize. Amanpreet B.Sc (Hons.) Physics Sem 6 prepared a Showpiece made up of empty pens, refills, disposable plates, and online parcel cardboards and won a Second Prize. All the participants were appreciated with participation certificates. Madam Principal appreciated the students for their excellent performance in various competitions and lauded the physics department for motivating students. She further stated that by participating in such events students gain confidence to showcase their talents and learn from other talented competitors of other institutes.
