P.G. Department of Physics of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, the Heritage institution, organized Student-Student Mentoring Workshop- “ANUBHOOTI-2022” for all science students. Under this program undergraduate science students were given a platform to present their concept based innovative experiments and projects that they have designed under the aegis of “Curie grant”. On this special occasion Er. Vishal Sharma, Scientist cum Chief Mentor of Innovation Hub, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala was invited as a guest of honor. Department of Sciences, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organizes this unique kind of workshop annually. To motivate students to develop critical and analytic thinking, different innovative projects made by senior science students were exhibited. Students got encouraged by the work of their seniors and showed willingness to take initiatives for more creative projects and experiments. Students showcased their projects like air cooler, Laser show, matchbox microphone, Rocket water bottle and many more. Students have developed as well as showcased touchless hand sanitizing machine which will be installed in the entrance of their class rooms. Further a prototype of touchless switches and touchless attendance system has been developed with an objective that students while entering or leaving the class room can turn lights and fans ON/OFF without even touching switches and can get themselves sanitized too. Attendance of students will be automatically marked by just passing across the switch.Students have also designed Bluetooth Controlled Car (Futuristic Driveless Car) which can be operated by using mobile phone. Through this workshop creative talent of the students was explored and they were able to think outside of the box. This workshop has developed a scientific spirit and curiosity among students which in turn drove them to think and creatively find solutions to the challenges. Students enjoyed learning through this workshop and felt a sense of belongingness with sciences. Er. Vishal Sharma applauded efforts and creativity of students and also guided them to modify their models. Principal Dr. (Prof.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated students for taking such innovative initiatives. She said science is the application of existing scientific knowledge to practical world, like technology or inventions.
