Kanya MahaVidyalaya Jalandhar, a pioneer institute of women education in Northern India organizes various innovative activities and visits for inculcating innovative spirit among the students. The interested and talented KMV students from different departments of college along with teachers Ms Vibuti Kalia and Dr Mandeep Kaur participated in technical Bootcamp program‘Tech-Startup- connect and Grow Event’ on Women Entrepreneurship organized by Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Guru Nanak Dev University in association with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh on February 08, 2023. The major emphasis of this event was to sensitize early-stage entrepreneurs to propound their ideas. The event started with the release of a documentary about Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation by Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Academic Affairs and Nodal Officer RUSA 2.0. On the occasion, Prof. Behl emphasized the need for women entrepreneurship for the prosperity of the nation. Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director, PSCST explained the role of Punjab Government to promote entrepreneurship among youth. Dr. Bakshi introduced the SHE (Startups, Hand Holding and Empowerment), an initiative of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. She also highlighted the networking of State government initiatives for young entrepreneurs.
Our students interacted with successful invited entrepreneurs Ms. Shikha Sareen, Chairperson- FICCI-FLO, Ms. Muskan Kapoor, MD Angels Paradise School and founder –Grace Health care, Mr. Amitesh Singh, Director- Novelty Group. Students asked them questions about the startup journey, various hurdles faced by them, management of finances for start-ups etc. The industry representatives motivated the students to involve in startups and expressed their interest to help girl students who want to venture into the exciting field of Entrepreneurship.
Students also visited the Incubation Centre at University. Dr P K Pati, coordinator of Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation expressed his commitment to the incubation center and motivated the students for entrepreneurship and ensured the support by the center. Students received certificates after completion of the program. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal of KMV congratulated the participants and encouraged budding entrepreneurs to take initiative for start-ups.
