KMV recognised for Excellence in Retail, Science Education, and Innovation Leadership: Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), a pioneering institution in women’s education, has achieved yet another milestone by being awarded three distinguished Centres of Excellence by the Government of India. These accolades recognize KMV’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and skill development. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV has been honored with the Centre of Excellence in Retail by the Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI). This prestigious recognition underscores KMV’s dedication to fostering industry-relevant skills and preparing students for dynamic careers in the retail sector. The CoE in Retail aims to provide specialised training, cutting-edge curriculum, and hands-on experience to equip students with the competencies required to excel in the ever-evolving retail industry. By aligning academic programs with industry standards, KMV ensures that its graduates are job-ready and possess the skills demanded by top retailers.KMV also has the honour of being bestowed with the first and only AnveshikaCentre in Punjab. Anveshika Centres, an initiative by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), are dedicated to promoting innovative teaching methods and fostering a deeper understanding of science among students and teachers. The designation as an Anveshika Centre is a significant honour, as it acknowledges the institution’s exceptional dedication to fostering scientific curiosity and nurturing future scientists. This centre will serve as a hub for scientific exploration, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. It will host workshops, training sessions, and collaborative projects, significantly enhancing the quality of science education in the region. KMV’s Anveshika Centre is set to inspire a new generation of scientific thinkers and innovators.KMV has also been recognized as the best performing Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in the North-West region. This accolade highlights KMV’s exceptional efforts in promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The IIC at KMV has created a vibrant ecosystem that nurtures innovative ideas, supports start-ups, and fosters a spirit of entrepreneurship among students and faculty. By providing state-of-the-art infrastructure, mentorship, and funding opportunities, KMV’s IIC has empowered numerous innovators to transform their ideas into successful ventures. It has also received 4 Gold Star rating by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Moreover, it has also been selected as a Mentor Institute in the Government of India’s Mentor-mentee program from among the top 155 Institutions of India which include Universities, Engineering Colleges and Management Institutions. Under the A.T.L.-I.I.C. linkage program where K. M.V. I.I.C.  is mentoring three schools, while also working as the coordinator and facilitator of the pre-incubation center set up to provide facilities to the faculty and students. Along with this Innovation and startup policy has been implemented by KMV IIC in the region. KMV has also bagged performer band in ARIIA rankings of Ministry of Education. This recognition affirms KMV’s role as a leading institution in driving innovation and contributing to the socio-economic development of the region. Prof. Dwivedi concluded by saying that these prestigious awards reinforce KMV’s position as a leader in education and skill development.
