Kanya Maha Vidyalaya(Autonomous) has been striving tirelessly for the holistic development of students. The college has a sustained record of excellence in placements due to the untiring and ceaseless efforts by the faculty of Centre for Competitive Exams. Keeping with this trend, a seminar was organised on How to prepare for Civil Services Examination. The resource persons for the Seminar were Mr. Pratik Jarad, IAS, AGMUT Cadre and Mr. Mayank Singh, an academic coach and a motivational speaker. The workshop was organized for the students of Semester IV and VI of graduate and Semester II and IV of post graduate classes. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students. Mr. Mayank highlighted that UPSC Exam is not complex but tough because its testing parameters are difficult. He discussed about various job opportunities and patterns of various prestigious exams like IAS, PCS, Defence, IRS etc. The students were also provided with various tips for cracking these competitive exams and were encouraged to start their preparations and stay motivated as well as disciplined to succeed in life. Mr. Pratik Jarad inspired the students with his own success story and struggling phases he had gone through from Engineering to cracking the UPSC Exam for Indian Administrative Services (IAS). He reiterated that anyone can prepare and clear this exam irrespective of their family background or qualification. He added that no standard pattern of studying could be given and number of hours of hard-work could vary according to the receptive abilities of students. But setting goals at appropriate time and remaining focused in-spite of failures could help us to crack any Civil Services Exam. The workshop ended with a healthy discussion and the queries of the participants were addressed very aptly by Mr. Pratik Jarad and Mr. Mayank. Mr. Pragnesh also guided the students about procedures of applying for these exams. The workshop ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sabina Batra. Principal Prof (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasized on the importance of women empowerment and financial independence. She highlighted the importance of hardwork, determination, perseverance and diligence for cracking any competitive exam. Madam Principal laudedthe contribution of the Centre for Competitive Exams and congratulated the team members Dr. Sabina, Dr. Pardeep, Dr. Archana, Dr. Iqbal and Mrs. Sanjana for organizing the event so efficiently.
