Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today Ranking (various categories) organized webinar on the topic World in Crisis: World War I. The webinar was organized by the Department of History of KMV. The expert talk on the webinar was delivered by Prof. Amandeep Bal, Head, Department of History, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Dr Bal commenced her lecture from the Spanish Flu which hit the indians fighting World War I 100 years back. The flu killed more people world wide than the total number of people killed in both the world wars. She further threw light on the fact sand causes of World War I and also stated that history should be remembered. More than 50 students and 10 faculty members attended this webinar. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Dr. Bal’s talk was very informative as well as very motivating. Participants were fully engrossed in her talk. Healthy discussion among participants and the speaker made the session more interesting. She further maintained that this type of activities always motivate the students to indulge more deeper into their subject. She lauded the efforts of Department of History for conducting such an innovative and inspiring Webinar on topics which connects the students with the past for the better understanding of future.
