Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) always keep on organizing various activities to provide a holistic growth to the students in order to make them a well rounded individuals. Keeping with the trend, KMV Collegiate Sr Sec School is pleased to announce its wonderful initiative of ‘The Happiness Program- A Key to Inner Sunshine’for the collegiate students. This is the first time in the region that Happiness Program is being organized for the youngsters to improve their happiness and well-being. It’s an 8-week regular program organized once a week which mainly focuses on how to improve self-confidence and enable students to deal more efficiently with negativity and passive thoughts, that results in improving their overall personality. Under this program, the first session on the topic of ‘Contemporary Pathway Towards Managing Stress’ was organized for the students of 10+1 and 10+2(Arts,Commerce and Science).The eminent speaker for this program was Dr. Neha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Human Development & Family Relations, Govt. Home Science College, Chandigarh.Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the session with her motivational words for the students. She averred that the importance of counseling and mentoring is in the curriculum of KMV, a spring board of brilliant career. She emphasized on the fact that KMV hasal way saimed for overall growth of the students by working on their holistic development in various spheres. Dr. Nehain her address to the students threw light on the importance of self-reliance and self- worth. She stated that external factors will always affect our mental health and question us but inner strength and conviction are the qualities that will help us face such challenges and turbulence.Further,she educated the students about various kind so fintelligence i.e. EQ, IQ, SQ and also stressed on the importance of “Emotional Quotient” in our present modern society. Dr .Neha also talked about significance of “Adversity Quotient” (AQ) in holistic development. It comprises of ability to turn obstacles into opportunities; hence it should not be seen as a stumbling block but as a stepping stone to success.After the session many students asked their queries from the eminent speaker to which Dr Neha replied brilliantly.Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi richly complemented the speaker and averred the need of counseling, guidance and stress management in the 21stcentury. She lauded the efforts of Mrs. Veena Deepak, Co-ordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare & Mrs Anand Prabha for organizing this program very successfully.
