Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) organised an Online FashionShow on the theme ‘Creative Halloween Design Interventions’. The fashion show was organised by the P.G. Department of Fashion Designing which is ranked again topmost in ‘Best Value for Money Category’ in India and amongst Top 30 colleges of India as per India Today Survey 2020. The main motive behind this creative endeavour was to give the students a creative outlet to hone their skills and to experiment with innovative paradigms. The students had prepared short creative video clips on the Halloween theme using their limited means during these difficult COVID times. The innovative use of apparel, make-up and video effects created an enticing and enriching experience for both the budding designers as well as the audience. KMV believes that a prerequisite required to make a good career in the fashion industry is creativity. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV has empowered the women by giving them the required skills in fashion designing and other disciplines so that they should become self reliant in this highly competitive world. She maintained that this type of Fashion show is very essential for the students as it gives them hands on training regarding the skills required to make a powerful career in the fashion industry. She further inspired each one to celebrate Halloween with the spirit of victory of goodness over evil and inspired the audience to become global citizens. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Mrs Harpreet Kaur, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing and all the faculty members of PG Department of Fashion Designing for organising this fashion show which inspired creativity beyond borders which is especially relevant during the current times.
