Education is the Primary Means of Empowering People: Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) & Outlook Magazine celebrated the National Youth Day, 2021 with full zeal & enthusiasm. The department of Political Science in collaboration with NSS and Students Welfare Club celebrated Rashtriya Yuwa Diwas, 2021, based on the theme “Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building”. Due to Covid-19, online celebrations were held with a motto to make youth aware of Swami Vivekananda’s thought and his contribution in making India a global icon. The students during the celebration participated in different activities such as poster making, slogan writing, essay writing and power point presentation. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi  averred that Swami Vivekananda is a role model for the youths, because of his strong mind, body, and spirit. His way of living life and his ideology could be a great source of inspiration for youths. Madam Principal further maintained that according to Swami Vivekananda, education is the only source to build a better society and a better nation. Education is the primary means of empowering people. She further added that students must ensure that they have been registered as a voter and the college is extensively engaged in SVEEP related activities in collaboration with 36-Jalandhar North. In the end, she lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Mrs. Ashima Sahni, Dr. Sonik Bhatia, Mrs. Anand Prabha and Dr. Iqbal Singh.
