Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) always work for the betterment of its students. In an another initiative, KMV organised online training for the students of Fashion Designing. Industrial training was facilitated with Innovative Knits,Mohali for B.Sc.Fashion Designing Semester V students. All the 22 students got themselves enrolled and participated in the training program with full zeal and enthusiasm. The training  was organised by the P.G. Department of Fashion Designing which is ranked twice as topmost in ‘Best Value for Money Category’ in India and amongst Top 30 colleges of India as per India Today Survey 2020. The main motive of organising the industrial training was to ensure the best utilisation of time and energy of students in productive work, despite limited means during the difficult COVID-19 times. The students not only finished the training with flying colours but were also awarded stars for their commendable performance. Majority of the students received twin stars for their excellent presentation.KMV believes that a prerequisite required to make a good career in the fashion industry is to gain practical knowledge along with the theoretical aspect of the subject. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV has empowered the women by giving them the required skills in fashion designing and other disciplines so that they should become self reliant in this highly competitive world. She further maintained that it  is very essential for the students as it gives them hands on training regarding the skills required to make a powerful career in the fashion industry. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Mrs Harpreet Kaur, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing and all the faculty members of PG Department of Fashion Designing for organising this online training and motivating the students.
