P.G. Department of Chemistry and Physics, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (The Heritage and Autonomous Institution), Jalandhar organized Student- Student Mentoring Workshop-“ANUBHOOTI-2021” for all science students on 1st December, 2021. Under this program undergraduate science students were given a platform to present their concept based innovative experiments and projects that they have designed under DBT star college scheme. Department of Sciences, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organizes this unique kind of workshop annually. To motivate students to develop critical and analytic thinking, different innovative projects made by senior science students were exhibited. Mentoring makes students better and effective listeners. This in turn develops their leadership skills and capabilities. For the mentee (junior student) it is easy to trust someone who has faced similar thoughts, queries and challenges, and learn how they overcame those situations.Students demonstrated the working of different instruments like rota evaporator, conductivity meter, UV-Vis spectrometer and many more to junior students and told them about its working and applications. Students showcased their projects like air cooler, Laser show, matchbox microphone, Rocket water bottle and many more. Students have developed as well as showcased touch less hand sanitizing machine which will be installed in the entrance of their class rooms. The participants participated with full enthusiasm and zeal. Through this workshop creative talent of the students was explored and they were able to think outside of the box. This workshop has developed a scientific spirit and curiosity among students which in turn drove them to think and creatively find solutions to the challenges. Principal Dr. (Prof.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated students for taking such innovative initiatives. She said science is the application of existing scientific knowledge to practical world, like technology or inventions.
