Jaipur National University  conducted an Ability Enhancement Workshop for school science teachers .Dr. Neetu Verma, from P.G. Department of  Physics of  the Heritage Institution, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, was the invited speaker and mentor in the experimental workshop. Main aim of the activity was to “up skill”, clarify the basic concepts and create interest in sciences through innovative experiments. Such workshops maximize the ability of faculty to teach and to create learner-centered teaching. In this workshop different daily human activities were related with science phenomena. She demonstrated some simple basic experiments of physics like types of waves through a model prepared from straws and tape ,demonstration of  eddy currents with the help of PVC pipe and magnet,  Concept of magnetic brakes by using aluminum disc , high low tracks & different experiments  of Physics related to standing waves, electromagnetic induction etc. These demonstrations were presented  with the help of simple and easily available materials so that students can showcase these even at home. There were also some magic tricks performed in the workshop and science behind these tricks was explained.  Teachers interacted with great enthusiasm & showed their interest in all activities. This workshop proved to be an enjoyable, interesting & knowledgeable activity which was totally different from regular classes.
