Activity Date

May 10, 2024

KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec  School under the aegis of KMV’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) celebrated National Technology Day on 10th and 11th May, 2024. This day is observed to acknowledge the contributions made by researchers, engineers and scientists to the society.

On this occasion, various events were organised. The collegiate students (Humanities/Commerce/Sciences) participated in these events with full zeal.On the first day, a motivated lecture on ‘Innovation and Design Thinking’ was delivered by Dr. Neetu Verma (Associate Professor, Head, PG Department of Physics and Vice President, KMV IIC) to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and startups in the young minds. She emphasized that there are no limits to what we can accomplish except the limits we place in our own thinking. She then quoted the example of problem solving: the encumbered VS the fresh mind and made things clear between traditional thinking and design thinking. Examples of world’s leading brands such as Apple, Google and Samsung were given that adopted the design thinking approach. Ma’am further explained what design thinking means and how problem solving equals design thinking. Many problems were solved such as installation of a sink on the top of the toilet seats to curb the water scarcity problem. Introduction of cashless payments to make the transactions straightforward and to reduce the chances of fraud.  Design thinking  modes were discussed which include empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. The lecture was quite fruitful and fostered the idea of innovation in the young minds. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma applauded Dr. Neetu Verma for  her incredible efforts for the same.
