Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous)organiseda Rakhi Making Competition to mark the celebrations of Raksha Bandhan. The activity was organised jointly by Department of Student Welfare, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration & PG Department of English. The motive of organising this event was to create an awareness amongst our students for Eco Friendly Products. Under the competition, various events namely Eco-friendly/Hand made/Tiranga rakhi/Seed rakhi and Thali decoration was organised. In the current scenario, where environmental hazards have adversely affected our health and welfare, this initiative by KMV witnessed an overwhelming participation of students. Students made rakhis of cereals, pulses, cotton, match sticks and several other eco-friendly products. Besides showcasing their creativity, the students of PG Department of Fashion Designing also displayed their entrepreneurial skills by selling these rakhis.The amount realised from sale was donated for Poor Students Fund, thus inculcating the values of empathy and charity amongst our young budding entrepreneurs.Principal Prof Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the participants for their skills, talent, creativity and for their invaluable contribution towards the underprivileged sections of our society. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English, Dr.Neeraj Maini, Head, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Dr Harpreet, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing and faculty for the successful organisation of this event.
