PG Department of Chemistry, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar celebrated ‘Diwali’ with the under privileged children of PinglaGhar and Apahaj Ashram on 28th October, 2021. PinglaGhar provides food, shelter, clothes, protection and medical treatment without any distinction of caste creed, sex or religion. Dr. NarinderjitKaur and Dr. Samriti Thakur along with 25 students of B.Sc. 5thsem shared moments of happiness with inmates of PinglaGhar. The students visited children and ladies wards of the house and distributed fruits, chocolates and biscuits among the inmates. On this occasion, the society head of PinglaGhar encouraged the students to participate in such noble ventures as he elaborated on the idea that education should not be limited to books but we should also understand the pain of those who are in need as we come forward to serve them.Students also served fruits in Apahaj Ashram and prayed for their good health and recovery. Principal, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivediapplauded the effort and urgedthe parents to help develop a sense of responsibility in their children.
