World Environmental day is celebrated on 26th September every year to promote the awareness of different issues surrounding the environmental health. To sensitize students about this current issueP.G. Department of Botany of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated world Environmental Health Day(Under Curie Grant) by organizing various activities like Quiz competition, Poster presentation competition, slogan writing competition, poem writing competition and nature through lens (Photography competition). Students from M.Sc. Botany and B.Sc. medical participated in the event. M.Sc. Botany Sem. III student Muskaan Sharma gave introductory speech on World Environmental health Day.For Quiz competition 30 students were registered for screening. After screening 16 students were shortlisted. Four teams A, B, C and D with four students each were formed from shortlisted students. There were three rounds in quiz. In first and second round each team was given five questions each and third round was the buzzer round. Team D was the winner team with Team B as first runner up and Team C as second runner up. In nature through lens (photography) more than hundred entries were submitted. In poster making, slogan writing and poem writing more than thirty entries were there in competition. Principal Ma’am interacted with the students and she praises the students for their efforts and motivated them to keep doing such activities in future.
