Event organised on World Rose Day (Welfare of Cancer Patients)
PG Department of Chemistry, KanyaMahaVidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized creative and innovative national level competitions on World Rose Day dated 22nd September 2023 under the aegis of CURIE grant. The world rose day is celebrated to spread awareness, give hope and to cheer the people fighting from cancer. The event was organized in hybrid mode i.e. both offline and online mode. Before starting the event, all the participants and teachers were felicitated with pink ribbon. During this event, entitled “Welfare of Cancer Patients” more than 200 students across the country participated with full enthusiasm. Competitions such as card making and video message on Cancer awareness were held. The students shared their beautiful and encouraging thoughts and gave profound messages on welfare of cancer patients to aware all that what should be our responsibility as society to deal with cancer patients and how one can make them happy and stress free. Students have prepared beautiful cards and video messages written with creative, innovative and encouraging quotes and dedicated them to all cancer patients. At the end, students with best card and video message were selected and rewarded for their creative ideas. In the category of video making competition Kritika Sharma (B.Sc Biotechnology Sem III, KMV) bagged 1st position, Preeti (M.Sc Chemistry Sem III, KMV) and Navneet Kaur (B.ScNon MedicalSem V) bagged second posib University, Chandigarh) . Likewise, in the category of Card making Annanaya (B.Sc Biotechnology Sem III, KMV) and Saloni Sharma (B.Sc Food Science and Technology Sem I, KMV) bagged 1st Position, Mansi (B.ScNon MedicalSem V, KMV) and Tamil Selvi.B (B.Sc Biotechnology II, AVP College of Arts and Science, Tirupur) bagged 2nd position , Mansi Thakur (B.Sc Biotechnology Sem III, KMV) and N. Sathya (B.Sc Biotechnology, AVP College of Arts and Science, Tirupur), bagged 3rd position, Arushi(B.Sc Biotechnology Sem III, KMV) and Yogeshdixit (PGDMLT,Wanless Hospital Miraz Medical centre) bagged consolation prize. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi applauded the efforts taken by the Faculty of Chemistry Department for organizing this event and said that such endeavors should be a regular feature.
