KanyaMahaVidyalaya (Autonomous) Department of Sciences in collaboration with the KMV Innovation council (KMV IIC), recently hosted DISHA 2024, an inter-departmental hackathon that has left an indelible mark on the landscape of student innovation. This exciting event was a significant part of the institution’s participation in the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH), an initiative of the Ministry of Innovations designed to ignite creativity and problem-solving skills among students. In the last academic session, the prototype Automatic Stagnant Water Ejector was adjudged First in the North Zone, marking a significant achievement for KMV. The event was graced by Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, who commended the participants for their hard work and creativity. Her unwavering support and visionary leadership were instrumental in making DISHA 2024 a resounding success. Prof. Dwivedi emphasized the importance of such events in fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving, reflecting KMV’s commitment to excellence in education and research. She averred that DISHA 2024 not only showcased the immense talent within KMV but also exemplified the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and encouraging students to tackle real-world problems. The event underscored the significance of collaborative efforts and the role of academic institutions in nurturing future innovators.It saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 teams who brought forward a diverse array of innovative ideas. Among the standout projects presented were: Earthquake Alarm: A pioneering system designed to provide early warnings for seismic activities. Artificial Wetland: A solution aimed at mimicking natural wetlands to treat wastewater. Bio-Blend: Redefining Waste: An initiative focused on creating biodegradable plastics from organic waste. Musa Papyrus: An eco-friendly alternative to traditional paper made from banana plants. Peel Glow: A skincare solution utilizing the natural benefits of banana peels for radiant skin. Recycling of Waste Papers: An innovative approach to repurposing waste paper into useful products. Wire Buzzer: A practical device designed for various applications, including educational purposes, Check Mate, SKILL BOOST, ArmX and many more.Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Department of Science and team of KMV IIC. She congratulated organizers Dr. Neetu Verma, Head, P.G. Department of Physics and President KMV IIC Dr. Rashmi Sharma.Mrs Veena Deepak, Head of the P.G. Department of Mathematics, Dr. Manju Sahni, Head of the P.G.
