Aesthetically built, acoustically treated and centrally air conditioned state-of-the-art conference hall is all set to felicitate erudite scholars, renowned researchers and acclaimed academicians invited from time to time in KMV for the intellectual enhancement of its young learners in person as well as through Video Conferencing With the capacity to accommodate at least 100 persons on prestigious occasions like National and International Seminars, Conferences, Workshops etc., the hall provides a temporal & spatial platform for faculty enrichment programmes. Its rich decor bespeaks of the Vidyalaya’s magnificent legacy embracing contemporary pursuits of excellence. Conference Hall, a hub of intellectual activity, is indeed a feature for the institution to take pride in.
The college has provided infrastructural facilities in the form of Lajjawati hall. Whether a small informal gathering or a large all-day meeting, there is multipurpose utilization of hall, e.g., for conducting functions, exhibitions, seminars, conferences, workshops, mid-term and end-semester exams, placement drive etc.
This facilitates the students and faculty members to conduct and promote quality teaching and research in a plural and diverse atmosphere.
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, a pioneer of women education in northern India has been ceaselessly endeavouring for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this trend, PRAYAAS, a shop has been opened in the college premises to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creative abilities. PRAYAAS is a joint endeavour of Gandhian Studies Centre, Women Studies Centre and the students of KMV.
Very true to its mission and vision of Women Empowerment, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has always been emphasising on inculcating various skills in the students to help them to remain focussed. Through the outlet PRAYAAS, students can sell their products and earn together with their education. So, here at KMV, students can practically implement their classroom learning by marketing different products. PRAYAAS, an endeavour of the students, by the students and for the students is a landmark achievement of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya in the direction of promoting Self Reliance and Self Dependence.
Student development Centre acts as a catalyst for students by conducting personality development classes, showcasing movies, offering leadership programs, experimential education opportunities and a variety of extracurricular and social activities which provide meaningful out of the classroom experience for students.
Keen to preserve the pristine glory of rich cultural heritage of Punjab, the college has taken an innovative initiative. ‘Virasat Ghar’ is the creation of a collaborative venture of both the teachers as well as the students of the Department of Punjabi who make regular contributions to enrich the priceless possessions and articles typical of Punjabi folk culture and art. Traditional Phulkaris, jewellery, utensils, charkhas (spinning wheels), traditional dresses and various household items are all cherished with an objective to inspire love in the young minds for our timeless culture that defines our identity. In the single-minded pursuit of this cause, the college makes consistent efforts to display this unique treasure in the form of exhibition from time to time.
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya , the flag bearer of women education in North India, with a rich legacy of 135 year , has played a significant role in empowering women in northern India . Women’s Studies Centre , established in 2009 under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi , Principal, K.M.V and Director, WSC with UGC funding , aims to be a catalyst in transforming women’ lives by imparting gender based education, inculcating confidence & leadership qualities and preparing them to achieve self actualisation with the ultimate goal of developing a gender neutral society . The main motive behind the establishment of the centre is to sensitise students about their rights and the issues related to the process of growing up and seeking their rightful place in the society.
Initiated in 2014, Vedic Research Centre was inaugurated by the Honourable Smt. Rekha Raje. Vedic Research Centre at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is infused with the spirit and dedication towards the timeless philosophy of Vedas. Sincere efforts are made to imbibe and inculcate in students the teachings of Vedas.
