KMV is the only institution in Punjab to be recognised as a high performing institution to act as mentor for the other institutions

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) is working ceaselessly to foster innovative and entrepreneurial culture among students, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship is at the core of every activity performed by various departments. In an another major achievement, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Government of Indiahas recognised KMV’sInstitution Innovation Council as a high performing Institution Innovation Council (star rating of 4.5)& has selected it to act as a mentor to the other IIC institutions those who are in need of guidance and support. It is pertinent to mention that KMV is among the top 155 institutions (including universities, engineering colleges and management institutes) all over the country & is the only institution in Punjab to be selected as mentor institute as a part of Mentor-Mentee Programme of Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (Government of India). This twining programme will help KMV and its mentee institutions to facilitate knowledge exchange and resource mobilisation between institutions by offering inter-institutional collaborations. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is performing brilliantly in terms of conducting Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) activities and has successfully developed the support system and competencies to drive the campusInnovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem efficiently.She further maintained that innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives at KMV is in sync with the New Education Policy of India & it will improve the key competence of entrepreneurship and will alsolead to more innovative behaviour among the students and faculty. The students are being provided utmost care & supreme mentoring by their teachers so that they should be skilfully trained in their fields in order to become empowered & self reliant & with the continuous motivation, guidance and support of the departments, many students have started their own ventures, be it a fashion boutique, beauty salon, diet clinic, nutritive foods manufacturing, bakery house, e-retailing, freelance photography & video editing etc. Madam Principal congratulated Dr. Rashmi Sharma, President KMV’sIIC and also lauded the efforts of IIC team of KMV for this outstanding achievement.
