Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) & Outlook Magazinecelebrated Navi Soch di Vaisakhiin collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. The program was organised jointly by PG Department of Fashion Designing, Department of NSS & Department of Extra Curricular Activities. Mr Karnesh Sharma, IAS, Commissioner,Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest for the event. In her inaugural address, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her Baisakhi wishes to everyone. Prof. Dwivedi averred that change is the only constant and we must all keep upgrading ourselves and rise to challenges. Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that KMV has empowered the women by giving them the required skills in various disciplines so that they should become self reliant in this highly competitive world&being a pioneer institution of this country, KMV aims to work for the holistic development the students by providing them with world class education. She also emphasised on the fact that KMV from time to time keeps on organising such meaningful activities so that the students should be able to make a connection with the rich cultural heritage of our country. The Chief Guest of the event Shri Karnesh Sharma, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar lauded KMV for its consistent support to various initiatives like Swaach Sarvekshan, My Waste My Responsibility, Swacchta Pakhwara, Cyclothon, Half Marathon,creating awareness on maskwearing and support to vaccination drive etc. He added that the support of educational institutions is very important in creating awareness in the society and in that way KMV is always a front runner. An online inter school, inter college competition was also organised in three different categories I.e. Logo Making, Slogan Writing and Jingle during the program on the theme of ‘Swacchta’ and ‘Support Vaccination Drive’. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Gurjot, Dr. Harpreet, Ms. Ashima Sahni, Ms. Geetika andDepartment of Performing Arts for organising the program successfully.
