Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Mental Health Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration was organised by PG Department of Psychology. On this occasion, a webinar was organised on the topic “Resilience-The armour for emotional well-being”. The Eminent Speaker for this webinar was Dr. Shilpa Suri, a Positive Psychology practitioner career development consultant and life skilltrainer. The webinar was attended by more than 60 participants. In her inaugural address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that mental health is essential to our overall well-being and it is as important as physical health.She further maintained that in today’s stressful life, it is very important that young people should be aware about their mental health. Dr. Shilpa Suri commenced her address with an impactful presentation. In her speech, she explained the students about the concept of resilience in today’s life. She also gave various tips to the students with the help of which they can become resilient by analysing their emotions, strength and potentials, how to gather more skills and courage to face stressful situations of life positively and also seek support and find solutions. Students of Psychology Department displayed informative and beautiful posters on the theme of Mental Health Day. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of the students and the faculty members of PG Department of Psychology and emphasised on conducting more such events in the future for the upliftment of everyone’s well-being.
