KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized an extension lecture on Polycystic OvarySyndrome (PCOS) by Dr. Geeta Juneja in collaboration with Meyer Organics Pvt. Ltd.The lecture was organized by Department of Student Welfare. Dr. Juneja informed that PCOS is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts which causes irregular periods, no periods at all, hirsutism, excessive hair growth& skin problems etc. She further added that in such condition, woman’s ovaries produce immature or partially mature eggs in large numbers.Dr. Juneja, also talked extensively about the role of healthy lifestyle in prevention of such disorders. She stressed upon the importance of healthy body weight, nutritious diet and regular exercise. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivediwelcomed the chief guest and averred that awareness on PCOS is very necessary for the growing girls as they must have proper knowledge about the symptoms as well as the prevention of it.Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Student Welfare), Ms. Veena Deepak (Coordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School) and Ms. Anand Prabha (Incharge, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School) for successfully organising the event. She appreciated the students for attending the session attentively and motivated them to keep doing so in future as they receive valuable knowledge from such interactive sessions.
