Sh. Chander Mohan, Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Dr Sushma Chawla& other Members of KMV Family Pays their Tribute to Mrs Nirmal Milkha Singh- the Great Daughter of KMV

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) & Outlook Magazine pays a rich tribute to its alumna Mrs Nirmal Milkha Singh, an international sports personality. Sharing fond memories of her visit to KMV, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Mrs Nirmal Milkha Singh was a proud alumna of KMV from the batch of 1952-59. Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that when Mrs. Nirmal visited KMV during the Alumni Meet Pearls-2019, she found Mrs Nirmal very lively as she performed modelling on KMV’s stage. The whole KMV family is deeply saddened to know about the passing away of Nirmal Milkha Singh due to Post-Covid illness.Although she was a wife of great athlete Mr. Milkha Singh, Mrs. Nirmalalso made her distinctive name in the field of sports as she served as the captain of India’s Volleyball team and represented India at international platforms to great impact. She also used to represent KMV in volleyball at national games.The sudden demise of  such a noted and acclaimed alumna of KMV is indeed an irreparable loss for the nation. At KMV, Mrs Nirmal had bestowed benedictions on the students and had averred that she was tremendously impressed by KMV-the patriotic and historical institution of India. When she visited KMV during the Alumni Meet, she said that she stayed at KMV hostel for three years and always feel deeply connected with this iconic institution due to the educational values that she has received at KMV. Mrs. Nirmal credited her success to KMV, as she told that it was here at KMV she was taught the values of discipline, self confidence, team work & dedication. Mrs. Nirmal had complimented Madam Principal and faculty for treasuring the rich historical legacy of KMV. She also motivated the students to continue to make endeavours for the progress of this heritage institution. Mr Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal averred that KMV pays a very sad and reverential tribute to the international personality who possessed exemplary qualities of head and heart. KMV is redolent with the fond memories of Mrs Nirmal Milkha Singh.
