Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous)has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students. In keeping with this tradition, P.G. Dept. of Commerce and Business Administration in association with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, organised a one day workshop on Practical Aspects of  Goods and Services Tax  for the students. The resource person  for the workshop was  CANavya Malhotra, Faculty, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.During the workshop, he acquainted students with concepts liketypes of GST, inter-state and intra-state transactions,place & time of supply,fixed establishment, input tax credit,system of reverse charge mechanism, HSN, SAC and compensation cess with the help of suitable illustrations.He also discussed the various forms of invoicing – tax invoice, bill of supplyand delivery challan in detail&gavepractical demonstration to explain different types of GST returns.The workshop was attended by more than 300 students. The workshop was held in a very interactive manner and it was indeed a learning and knowledge enriching experience for the students and faculty members.Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude to the resource person and lauded the efforts ofP.G.Dept of Commerce & Business administration for taking initiatives to make  students abreast of the latest developments in the field of commerce and industry.
