Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a webinar on Indian Culture in Abroad. The webinar was organisedunder the International Lecture Series by the Post Graduate Department of Hindi. Mrs. Rachna Srivastava, who has made her mark in journalism, translation and especially poetry writing, attended the event as a resource person from America. Addressing the students, she said that it is the ultimate duty of a human being to keep his/her culture alive and to hand over the heritage to our children. She said that we can make it Chiranjeevi by creating our culture first from ourselves and then from our families. Through her personal experiences, she told how her language, dress, rituals are preserved in her life. She said that the fragrance of their culture always rises in the minds of Indians living abroad and this fragrance makes them feel Indian and as a result of this, Hindi as a subject in various colleges and universities of the country like America is being taught. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude to Mrs Rachna for providing important information about the subject to the students and averred that through such events, the importance of their culture can be explained to the students in a very simple manner. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Vinod Kalra, Head, PG Department of Hindi for successfully organising the event.
