Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories)has been organising various activities in order to commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. In the continuation of this series, KMV organised a webinar on the topic“Guru Tegh Bahadur: Tyag Ate Teg to ShahadatTak”. The webinar was organised by the PG Department of Punjabi. Professor Dr HS Bedi, Chancellor, Central University, Himachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest for the occasion & Mr Avtar Singh, Associate Professor, Ramgarhia College, Phagwara was the Keynote Speaker for the webinar. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her welcome address averred that one can learn a lot of values of life from the teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. We can only give true tribute to Guruji by implementing His teachings & ideas of life in our practical life &by dedicating our lives to the people’s welfare by renouncing all kinds of evil in the world. Mr Avtar Singh during his address acquainted the students with the life journey of Guruji& stressed on the fact that Guruji gave supreme sacrifice for the whole humanity so that the whole world should be able to tread on the path of righteousness. Prof Dr HS Bedi in his Presidential address appreciated the efforts done by KMV to make the celebration of Guruji’s birth anniversary more grand. He stressed on the fact that we should all bow our heads in front of Guruji’ssacrifice & should follow the footsteps of Guruji in fighting against injustice &oppression in the society. In the conclusion, Dr Iqbal Kaur, Head, PG Department of Punjabi gave Vote of Thanks to the worthy guests & to all the participants of the webinar. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of PG Department of Punjabi for organising this webinar.
