Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a workshop on the topic of “CV Building”. The event was organised by Career Counseling& Placement Cell of KMV. The talk was delivered by Ms. Vandana Raheja, Senior Business Development Manager – University Canada West. Ms. Vandana commenced the talk by providing difference between Resume and CV. She described length, applicability and content as the key differences among the two. She acquainted the students with the content that must be included in the Resume & emphasized that the primary objective of Resume is to get a call for an interview. The Resume must include applicants contact details, educational background, skills, accomplishments, objective and co-curricular activities. She added that the organization seeks leadership activities, problem solving skills, projects, team work, good communication as well as good technical, computer and analytical skills on the part of candidate. So the candidate must work on these things and correctly highlight them in their Resume. She enlisted the 5 P’s of the Resume that are Painless, Perfect, Page, Paper and Position. She advised students to go in for some certification/dual degrees programmes to obtain an extra edge over other candidates. More than 400 students attended the session. At the end of the session, students asked their queries which were courteously and effectively answered by the resource-person. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude towards the resource person for sparing her valuable time. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Placement Cell and motivated them to conduct such sessions frequently in future for the benefit of students.
