Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized an international workshop on glass preparation for the celebrations of Glass year 2023. The workshop was organized by PG Department of Physics. Dr. AshutoshGoel.Associate Professor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey was the resource person for the workshop. During the workshop Dr. Goel explained the students about the principles of glass melting and finally glass formation. He also explained to the students about the eutectic and phase diagrams followed by glass forming and crystalline region&also prepared glass samples with the students. Dr. Gopi Sharma of Physics department, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is in collaboration with Dr. Goelsince 2009 and they both are currently working on the radioactive waste disposal by turning nuclear waste into glasses. During his visit, he also interacted with the M.Sc. Physics students. Heexplained them about different research opportunities and also encouraged them to do research in the field of Material Science.
