Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) pays a tribute to Sh. Sunderlal Bahuguna ji, a prominent environmentalist and a leader of Chipko Movement. Sharing fond memories of his visit to KMV, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Sh Bahuguna visited KMV along with his wife during the International Conference on Environmental Challenges: A Global Concern in 2010. She maintained that Sh Bahuguna ji was a very popular, humble, simple, committed and dedicated personality who had endeared himself to the masses by his earthly appeal & connect. Being an environmentalist, he earnestly felt the need to assuage the sufferings of humanity and acted accordingly. His untiring efforts for the preservation of the Himalayan ecosystem earned him global recognition and will long be remembered. Shri Bahuguna ji’s efforts have spawned a generation of environmentalists and will inspire many more to come. Our tribute to him is to strive and live by his legacy. The sudden demise of  such a noted and acclaimed personality is indeed an irreparable loss for the nation. At KMV, Sh. Bahuguna ji had bestowed benedictions on the students and had averred that he was tremendously impressed by KMV-the patriotic and historical institution of India. When he had visited KMV, he had interacted with the College President Mr Chander Mohan and had complimented him and KMV Management, Principal and faculty for treasuring the rich historical legacy. She also motivated the students to continue to make endeavors for the protection of the environment. Mr Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal averred that KMV pays a very sad and reverential tribute to the great personality who possessed exemplary qualities of head and heart. KMV is redolent with the fond memories of Sh. Sunderlal Bahuguna ji.
