Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi Principal KMV was awarded for creating an exceptional educational environment on the occasion of 75 th Republic Day celebration. Prof. Dwivedi has championed the cause of women empowerment through her visionary leadership and her passion for women education, social and environmental issues has made KMV contribute colossally to the well-being of the whole society. Prof. Atima has inspired KMV faculty and students to undertake various ventures for creating a pollution free environment and management of waste in a sustainable manner, both in urban as well as rural areas of Jalandhar. It is under her dynamic leadership that various projects for social and environmental upliftment including the creation of the ‘Statue of Sustainability and Empowerment’ have been successfully undertaken by KMVites. The crusader for the cause of social well-being, Prof. Atima averred that her vision is to foster women who care for a developed and environmentally healthy society, and this according to her is the real motive of education. She further adumbrated that KMV has carried out various collaborative initiatives with Municipal Corporation and will continue this noble work in future also. Through holistic and welfare oriented activities, Dr. Sharma has also worked for community services, especially with war widows, Army families and developmental work in remote areas of India. Under her able leadership, Women Empowerment Cell of KMV has empowered more than 4000 women of underprivileged sections of society in the past few years by skilling and mentoring them.The management, faculty and students congratulated Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi on this achievement.
