Young Generation Should Make Rani Laxmi Bai their Role Model: Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Top Rankings in India by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 & Outlook Magazine Ranking paid a glowing tribute to Rani Laxmi Bai- The iconic role model for youth on her birthanniversary. On this occasion, a special program was organised by the Department of History. The program commenced with the inaugural address of Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. In her address, Prof. Dwivedi averred that Rani Laxmi Bai was the bravest of the brave and most courageous womanwho fought for her nation’s dignity & unity. Possessing an indomitable spirit, Rani Laxmi Baiis an inspiration & role model for the young generation as she broke all the barriers of the society & emerged as one of the strongest Indian women. Throwing more light on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai, Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that Rani Laxmi Bai was a selfless warrior who stood up for common good & protected her motherland by fighting bravely against the oppressors. Even the historians from all over the world consider Rani Laxmi Baia great warrior. Giving a strong message to the young students, Prof. Dwivedi averred that Rani Laxmi Bai proved that women are capable of doing great things and no obstacle can stop them from achieving great heights. Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi also appealed to allKMVites to make Rani Laxmi Baitheir role model and to take directions from her life in order to live a dignified & courageous life. After Madam Principal’s address, videos of students named Navroz, Ashu, Jasdeep, Jaspinder, Kanupriya, Yashika, Namita & Ritu were shown in which students shared their views about the life & struggle of Rani Laxmi Bai. Komal, Shruti & Neha also recited beautiful poems&Khushboo and Harman prepared unique posters depicting the bravery & valour of Rani Laxmi Bai.Komalpreet, Arshpreet, Kirandeep, Paramjeet, Bhavleen&Komalpreet Gill also presented their slogans on this occasion. Dr Monica Sharma, Department of History extended theVote of Thanks.Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Gurjot, Head, Department of History for successfully organising the program. Kulwinder Kaur & Ramneek Kaur were the moderator for the whole program.
