A great platform for the alumni to reunite from across the globe to foster connections and memories with much enthusiasm
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised the K.M.V. Alumni Meet Pearls’ 24. Mrs. Gurjot Kaur, Senior Executive, Ajit Group of Publications, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, K.M.V. Managing Committee, Dr. Kamal Gupta, member of the K.M.V. Managing Committee, along with Mrs. Parveen Abrol, Mrs. Sonia Virdi, Dr. Narendra Sandhu, former Principal of Ramgarhia College, Ludhiana, and Mrs. Promila, among others, participated enthusiastically alongside thetalented former students of KMV in this meet. Principal Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the empowered alumni and averred that today she is performing the dual role of one as the Principal of the college and other as the proud alumnae of KMV. Addressing the alumni present at the auditorium, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi acquainted the daughters of the institution with the progress and achievements of the organisation, stating that K.M.V. is a well-known name in the academic world for women’s education and empowerment efforts for nearly a century and a half. She emphasised the importance of providing a platform like this event for the daughters of the institution to share their stories of struggle and success, inspiring future generations. She expressed pride in the K.M.V. alumnae who have enhanced the glory of the institution with their skills and talents in various fields of society. On this occasion, after a long interval, former students who visited the college recalled the days spent at K.M.V. and refreshed many interesting anecdotes and memories. Apart from Mrs. Promila from the 1956 batch, Mrs. Sukhchandan Kaur and Dr. Narendra Sandhu from the 1976 batch, Mrs. Naina, Mrs. Jasbir, Mrs. Gurjot Kaur, and Mrs. Varun Kaur Maan, shared their college memories, stating that K.M.V. is not just a workplace but a place where they learned discipline, hard work and identified opportunities for advancement in life. It is pertinent to mention that this alumni meet witnessed the presence of the alumni from as far Mumbai, Shimla, Faridabad and moreover, former students from Canada and USA also joined the celebrations.Alumni also visited the college after a long time and saw hostel, hall of fame and state of the art labs.They appreciated the progress of the institution under the guidance of Principal Dwivedi.In addition to enjoying interesting games, former students also displayed their individual styles in modelling. Mrs. Anukiran Khanna shared her emotions with everyone by reciting a heartfelt poem. On this occasion of happiness and reunion, Mrs. Ritika from the KMV’s dance department presented classical dance. The former students, who are shining the name of K.M.V. nationally and internationally, shared their feelings for their beloved alma mater through video recordings also. Madam principal lauded the efforts made by Dr. Shalini Gulati and the whole organising committee for successfully organising the event.
