Shakespeare and Jane Austen interviewed amidst numerous innovative activities
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous)organised Litmania- 25 (An Ode to Creativity) celebrating literature and the finer sensibilities of the life. The fest was organized by P.G Department of English. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, she averred that in today‘s world, alongside technical expertise, there is a pressing need for emotional intelligence, spiritual awareness, and moral self-development—qualities that literature can profoundly nurture. Madam Principal highlighted that Kanya Maha Vidyalaya continuously strives to organize such enriching events that motivate students to express their creativity. She further expressed that the youth of today must foster a deeper connection with literature, and platforms like Litmania play a vital role in achieving this goal. She remarked that events of this nature not only immerse students in the enchanting realm of literature but also significantly enhance their imaginative faculties, paving the way for a more holistic intellectual development.The event commenced with interview sessions. Some of the notable figures worth mentioning during the Interview were William Shakespeare and Jane Austen. The event consisted of a series of performances based on English literature like book review of Animal Farm, letters from fictional characters like Romeo and Celie, Letters to characters like Cinderella, Atticus Finch and Scout Finch. Case Studies, Poetry recitation and many more presentations were also done by the students.Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the convener of the event, Dr Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English for having organized such an event dedicated to the literature. She also appreciated the hard work of the team of PG Department of English for their sincere and whole hearted involvement in the event.
