Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Ranked No.1 College  in India by India Today Ranking have created its niche in the field of academics. Adding one more feather to its cap,   Dr. Surbhi Sharma, Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Physics of KMV received Excellent Paper Award at International Conference on Science, Enginering & Technology (ICSET)  which was organized by Research Fora and was held in  Toronto, Canada. Among all the speakers, Dr Surbhi represented India and presented her research work titled “Effects of partial substitution of Sb on thermophysical properties of Se based chalcogenide glasses”. Dr Surbhi’s research work reports thermal as well as physical properties of quaternary chalcogenide glass system. Dependence of glass transition temperature and thermal stability on glass composition has been established via DSC technique. Glasses under study shows good thermal stability and hence can find practical applications especially in fibre optical technology and phase change memory storage. It is important to mention that this International conference featured world renowned keynote speakers, plenary speeches, young research forum & interactions with renowned scientists of the world. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Surbhi and averred that this is a very good learning experience for her as this would surely help her in exploring more inputs for her work. She further maintained that in KMV we always promote our faculty to indulge in research-oriented activities thoroughly and to highlight the work done at national as well as global level.
