KMV is a research nursery for the budding scientists: Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi

Adding one more feather to its golden cap, Ms Sandeep Kaur, Project Scholar, PG Department of Physics has been selected for six months research training program at ICTP-ENEA, Italy. Throwing more light on this singular achievement, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Ms Sandeep will be working at Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), Italy. Ms Sandeep was the student of M.Sc. Physics and during the final semester of her masters she worked under Dr. Gopi Sharma and Dr Sharma helped her to develop interest in the field of glasses. With the support of her teachers Sandeep was motivated to pursue research as a career. Currently, Ms Sandeep is pursuing her PhD under the guidance of Dr. Neetu Chopra, Associate Professor on “Rare earth doped borotellurite glasses and nano-glass-ceramics”. Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that during her research work at KMV, she also got an opportunity to work at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Bhabha Atomic Research Center. Her stay at Gujrat Borosil in Baruch as part of KMV Internship programme motivated her to develop systems which has directly applications in Industry. Ms Sandeep has also attended two months summer training program at Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi. Ms Sandeep in a jubilant mood told that all this has been made possible because of the constant support and motivation from Madam Principal and teachers of Physics Department. Madam Principal averred that KMV is a research nursery that provides the most conducive environment for various research oriented activities to the students so that they may be able to excel in the field of research & innovation and can make a mark in their lives. This particular achievement speaks a volume about KMV’s commitment towards providing futuristic and progressive education.
